About Gabriella Karni
Gabriella Karni was born in Israel and began her PhD studies in Educational Psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem — one of the top-ranked academic institutions worldwide. She taught psychology for eight years in Tel Aviv.
In 1998 she co-founded a ground breaking start-up with her partner Oren Dobronsky, developing one of the first commercial browser toolbars, which helped pioneer early digital advertising models. In 1998 she relocated to New York, founded additional ventures, and successfully exited two companies in 2006 and 2008.
Gabriella arrived to Lake Atitlan from New York, fell in love with San Marcos, and chose to anchor her next chapter here. Today she advises young start-ups, manages multiple business ventures, and co-founded Lake Atitlan Realty together with the brilliant Katherine Bird.
